About Us

Camp Paws offers boutique pet care services in Melbourne, from hosting pets in the Carer's home, house and pet sitting in the clients home, doggy day care, dog walks, home visits and more. We may mention dogs a lot, but Camp Paws does not discriminate against any pet type. We love all animals and have experience caring for cats, horses, alpacas, fish, reptiles, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, bearded dragons and lots of chooks!

We're based in Diamond Creek, Victoria and serve the greater Melbourne area. Please get in touch so we can discuss how the team can best meet your needs.

How We Came To Be

In 2018, I was unexpectedly made redundant from a senior corporate role. As I considered my next steps as a single mum, I decided a change of pace, a better work life balance and doing something I loved everyday, that fitted a little better with my mum role, would be perfect. As it happened, around the same time, my son Will and I cared for a friend’s pup (Merlot the Kelpie) whilst the family were away on holiday. We had a great time and sent lots of photos to Merlot’s Mum and Dad every day to show what a great time she was having.

A few months later, when I visited my family overseas, Merlot’s family returned the favour. The daily updates I received were a source of reassurance and enabled me to still feel connected to my beloved pup Annie, whilst away.

The seed was planted and I was sure there must be other families who would like their precious pets cared for in a family home rather than a kennel or cattery. Not long after, I saw a Facebook post, another family was looking for someone who would consider caring for their pups for a weekend…...Camp Paws was born.

Over the years, Camp Paws has gone from strength to strength and grown into a thriving five star boutique pet care business with a loyal customer following, which is increasing exponentially. We have a team of amazing Camp Paws Carers who care for pets in either their own home or in the home of the client. We provide a wide range of services and I am very proud of what we have created.

At Camp Paws we value and are passionate about:

  • Being animal lovers (not a little bit, a lot!)
  • Being honest, responsible and trustworthy
  • Valuing strong communication
  • Exceeding client's expectations

I am a massive animal lover and I absolutely adore having the opportunity to meet a huge variety of pets with so many personalities! I can’t imagine a life without animals as I’ve always had pets to come home and cuddle with at the end of a hard day.

At the moment I have two dogs, two cats, and 3 horses of my own. One of my favourite activities is taking my dogs to the beach because they absolutely love it, especially in summer when I can swim with them!

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Science and hoping to complete the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in a few years time.  I want to spend a lifetime caring for animals and I’m so glad to be a part of Camp Paws where I can do this.

Caitlin with one of her own best friends

Caitlan holding one of her fur babies in her armsMy name is Caitlin and I’m so proud to be a Camp Paws Carer since 2020.

I am a fully qualified veterinary nurse and currently work at a wonderful clinic. This, combined with my clients at Camp Paws, as well as my own fur babies, makes animals pretty much my entire life!

My favourite part about being on the Camp Paws team is making special connections with my wonderful clients and their animals. Being able to provide quality care and peace of mind, while owners step away, is so rewarding. I also have knowledge and experience with a range of different species and breeds, and treat every animal as if they were my own.

At home, I have five dogs and one rescue cat, who are all my world. I also love spending time with my lovely family and friends, exploring nature, going to the gym, playing tennis and netball, getting creative with art, and caring for my many houseplants.

Molly with her pup

I recently completed my bachelors degree and have been with Camp Paws for the last year. Getting to know and care for such an array of animals is such a joy and a privilege.

Ben with his fur babies Lola and CocoBen holding Lola and Coco

I live with my wife Danielle and our fur babies Lola (spoodle) and Coco (poodle), and together we would love to walk and care for your pets whilst you are away.

A few years ago Danielle and I discovered Camp Paws as pet owners who were in need of support for our girls and just loved the service provided. The team took exceptional care of our girls and now we are thrilled to be a part of the fantastic CP family.

We have lived in Diamond Creek for 6 years and I love taking Lola and Coco for their daily walks or to the park or an oval to socialise with other people and meet their dogs. I also love sport, reading, entertaining friends and family and travelling when we can. I currently work at Chemist Warehouse as an inwards forklift driver on afternoon shift and with the help of Danielle, I am able to also work as a Camp Paws Carer semi professionally. I hope to work full time with Camp Paws in the future. I am available to care for your pup in my home and I also walk many pups whilst their humans are at work or away on holiday. I hope to see you and your fur babies soon.

Amitie with two of her best buddies!

Amitie with two of her best buddies

“My name is Amitie, a VCE student and chronic animal lover. My love of animals saw me volunteer at Animal Aid’s boarding facilities for a year and a half. There I interacted with a huge variety of personalities, behaviours and needs (of the animals, mind you). I was born into a family with dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits and have babysat for reptiles. I cannot imagine a life without animals. I believe every pet is unique and I can’t wait to get to know your fur, feather, scaley baby. Rest assured they will be well loved.”

Angela and Ned the Donkey!!

Angela  "Hi, my name is Angela and I have been pet sitting for over 20 years. Mostly in Melbourne and Sydney and when I lived overseas, I was pet and      house sitting in the UK Canada and Cyprus.

I have always been considered reliable and trustworthy and I enjoy being with animals for a number of reasons. I like seeing a dog run, jump,        swim, sniff out anything ‘interesting’. A cat has the ability to climb, leap and run with incredible agility. Animals are inquisitive and very                  trusting and I like that about them. I am happy when they trust me as I feel they sense a ‘camaraderie’. That’s an excellent sign.  I look forward      to building that friendship with your pets at Camp Paws!

Bev and her gorgeous BellaBev

“Hi, I'm Bev and this is my 3yr Black lab Bella. Originally from the UK, my husband and I, along with Bella, have recently moved to Melbourne from NZ.

We both love animals and have owned many pets over 25 yrs, but mostly dogs and cats.

Whilst in the UK, I worked for Labrador Rescue South East and once in NZ I volunteered at Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust in Christchurch, which I loved. There were lots of sad stories when families had to give their pets up for adoption, but it was reassuring to see these wonderful pups eventually find their forever homes.

I’m really happy to have joined Camp Paws and am available to care for your pets in your home whilst you are away. I can also take small/ medium pups for walks and facilitate drop in visits for smaller pets such as cats, birds and reptiles.”

Casey with Finnegan the Dachshund

I offer dog walking, home visits and I also care   for smaller pups in my home. I’d love to help you by caring for your pets whilst you’re away.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

 Casey :)

Jen Jen with her feline friend Winston

“Hello, my name is Jenny. I've had a deep love and appreciation of animals all of my life. I've handled animals of all types, dogs, cats, birds and many more. I   have looked after many friend's animals over the years, sometimes for weeks, weekends, or whatever was required. I will look after your pet(s), as I look   after my own - that's with kindness and lots of love, ensuring that they feel safe, happy and comfortable in their surrounds.

I'm very conscious of individual personalities - some are confident and then there are others who are shy and timid and prefer to stay hidden from view.   I'm very comfortable providing required medications and have a cat of my own who is diabetic, so I'm very  aware of the importance of giving medication at a specific time. Your pet(s) will be kept indoors overnight and be able to wander around the big backyard at their leisure during the day.

I provide sleepovers, day care and home visits. I do hope to meet you and your pet(s), in the near future.  Jenny”

Kim with her KCS Sam and bunniesKim

Hi, I’m Kim and my husband Pete, toddler and King Charles Cavalier, live in Kilsyth South. Sam (our KC Cavalier) loves a snuggle, and a walk. He is also very used to having doggy friends holiday with us. He has a good balance of playing with his guests and also letting them have their own space when needed.

Jasper (our toddler) is very used to dogs visiting and he loves them. We never leave the dogs unsupervised with Jasper.

We have a well enclosed backyard and a dog door so the dogs can go in and out at any time that we are at home. My husband works from home 2 days a week and I work part time, so someone is hone a lot of the time!

I look forward to caring for your pets!

With a smile,

Kim

Maria with one of her house guests

Maria Hi, I'm Maria and I love animals. I have been fortunate to have had various dogs and cats as companions throughout my life.   Though I currently don't have any pets of my own, I can't resist patting every dog that crosses my path and often care for friends   pets. I work independently offering occasional consulting services, which means I spend most of time at home.

I've lived in Hurstbridge for the past three years and absolutely love it. Being part of community is important to me and I enjoy the   walking trails, parks and activities the area offers. I would love to take your dog on these adventures.

My townhouse a decent fully fenced backyard and a large balcony, providing a safe and spacious environment for pets. The social   area is also a good size giving plenty of room for pets to roam and play.

I offer sleepovers, dog walks, doggy day care and home visits. I'm happy to discuss your specific needs and tailor my services to   suit you and your pet.

Sarah with Dixy the Border Collie

Sarah

“Hi I'm Sarah. I live in Diamond Creek and have lived in the area my whole life (except for a few years when I was in the UK).

Our first dog was a beautiful Lab, full of energy. I was smitten. Since then, I have had a few dogs over the years, some of them foster   dogs. The last one being my 3-legged Lab Pandi, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago and I haven't managed to replace her.

I would love to host your dogs, provide dog walking, house visits, and pet sitting.

I look forward to meeting you!”
